Keeping Your Drivers Up-To-Date

WindowsUpdate keeps your Microsoft OS and applications up-to-date, but what about all your hardware drivers. A free program called SlimDrivers alerts you to the latest version of a driver.

There are two versions of the software. SlimDrivers is the free version only allows you update one driver at a time before you reboot. The premium version called DriverUpdate allows for multiple driver updates before you reboot and offers advanced automation features.

Windows 7: Disabling System Protection

Sometimes there's a need to turn off the System Restore feature (e.g. such as recovering free space on a drive).  By disabling the System Restore functionality, note it will be permanently deleting all existing restore points from the drive.

Below are the instructions on how to perform this action:

• From the Start menu, select Control Panel
• Select System and Security, and open the System control panel
• In the left pane, click System Protection
• If the UAC is enabled, the administrator credentials will be required.
• Select the drive to disable the System Protection feature.
• Generally feature is enabled on Windows system drive, which in most cases is the C: drive.
• Press the Configure... button, when the System Protection dialog displays, select the Turn off system protection radio button, then press the OK button.
• Press the OK button again to close the last dialog.

Windows 7: Scheduling Your Computer to Shut Down Automatically

Do you leave your computer on for extended periods of time, and would like it if your computer would automatically shut down at a specific time of day.  Follow the instructions below.

• Click the Start button, in the search box, type "scheduled tasks" then click the item in the search results.
• In the Task Scheduler console, in the Actions pane on the right, click "Create Basic Task ...".
• In the Basic Task Wizard dialog, enter a name for task, such as "Shutdown Computer" and include a optional description such as "Shuts down computer at 12:00 a.m. everyday", press the Next button.
• On the Task Trigger page, select "Daily" and press the Next button.
• On the Daily page, enter a start date and time that you want the task to first begin (e.g. 12/1/11 and 12:00 a.m.) and press the Next button.
• On the Action page, select the "Start a Program" and press the Next button.
• On the Start a Program page, in the Program/script field, type:  %SYSTEMROOT%\SYSTEM32\SHUTDOWN.EXE
• Press the Next button, review the Summary page and press the Finish button.

Based on the task that was defined above Windows will now automatically shut down at 12:00 a.m. each day. Although before it does the system will display a pop-up notification, "Windows will shut down in less than a minute."

Download laju dan pantas guna Internet Download Manager ( IDM )

Kali ni aku nak ajar korang yang taktau macam mana nak download satu2 mende dengan laju.. caranya, kite gune Internet Download Manager (IDM)..

ok, lepas korang download software IDM ni, tiba masa kite install software ni dulu.. jangan main install je, ada cara2 penting aku nak bagitau ni..

mula2 install macam biase software IDM tu.. nama installer IDM tu ialah idman518.exe.. lepas siap install pastikan software tu tak running dalam laptop/pc korang.. kalo running gak, exit the program.. macam mane nak tau? check kat system tray..

orait, lepas siap install, bukak pulak folder crack.. dalam tuh ade 4 menatang.. ok, korang copy IDMan.exe.. kemudian paste dalam Program Files > Internet Download Manager.. REPLACE dengan IDMan.exe yang asal..

lepas siap copy and replace mende hijau tuh, pergi semula ke folder crack.. cuma double click kat RegKey.reg.. tekan OK, dan OK lagi sampai la komputer korang cakap yang dia dah siap masukkan registry tu dalam komputer korang..

dah siap buat sume tuh, bukak IDM korang.. mana nak bukak pandai2 cari.. ok, aku gurau lagi.. start > Internet Download Manager

lepas korang bukak IDM, korang akan nampak seperti gambar kat atas ni.. kemudian koran tekan OPTIONS.. aku dah siap tanda mana nak tekan, takyah tanye aku kat mana nak tekan ok..

lepas tu tekan kat tab CONNECTION.. setting kat sini la paling penting..

• ConnectionType/Speed : korang pilih ikot ape yang korang gune.. macam aku, LAN/10Mbs
• Default max. conn. number: settingkan kepada 16
• tekan kat tab GENERAL plak
• tick kat browser yang korang gune
• tekan OK

ok, dah siap pun.. lepas ni, kalo korang nak download pape, IDM akan popup.. pilih mane nak simpan, then start download.. bagi aku simple je..

kalo boleh jangan la harapkan aku atau orang lain suapkan.. pandai2 la kaji sendiri kalau ada mende nak tanye.. nak tanye boleh, tapi kalo mende tu problem yang simple2, sorry la korang kene kaji sendiri.. rajen2 la wat eksperimen.. nanti takde la korang ketinggalan..

software ni gak boleh buat download video dari YOUTUBE tanpa install software lain.. cube la bukak YOUTUBE, nanti korang akan tau sendiri macam mana..

Software yang Perlu Ada Dalam Komputer

Hari ni aku nak share software-software yang korang wajib install kat komputer korang. Tanpa software-software ni, komputer korang umpama pohon tanpa buah. Ok, peribahasa tu takde kaitan. Pedulikan peribahasa tersebut, kita terus kepada main topic. 


Antivirus
Antivirus yang aku cadangkan untuk korang ialah antivirus avast. Kelebihan antivirus avast ni ialah ianya free dan performance pulak on par dengan antivirus berbayar. Aku pun tengah guna avast sekarang. Setakat ni tak pernah kena virus lagi. Avast bukan saja mampu scan komputer korang secara real time, ia juga mampu scan segala trafik internet semasa korang melayari internet. Secara tak langsung keselamatan di internet juga terjamin. Yang pasti avast ni lagi ok dari avira dan avg. Oleh kerana avast ni free, boleh la simpan duit korang tu untuk kegunaan lain.

Web Browser
Web browser merupakan software yang agak penting yang perlu ada dalam komputer korang. Tanpanya korang tak boleh main facebook, blogwalking, download lagu, check email dan banyak lagi. Web browser yang aku cadangkan ialah google chrome. Google chrome ni agak laju. Selain tu ianya ringan jer dan tak pakai banyak resources. Mozilla firefox dengan opera pun ok, tapi pada pendapat aku firefox dan opera tak seringan chrome lagi-lagi kalau bukak banyak tab.

Word Processor
Word Processor ialah software yang korang gunakan untuk membuat dan mengedit dokumen. Word processor yang aku cadangkan ialah Microsoft Office. Tapi masalahnya Microsoft Office ni berbayar. Mahal giler pulak tu. Alternatif lain ialah Open Office. Open Office ni free sebab ianya software open source. Walaupun Open Office ni agak kurang best nak guna tapi kira ok la kan sebab free. Tak payah susah-susah nak beli.

Codec
Codec stand for Coder Decoder. Fungsinya untuk dekode dan enkode video. Tanpanya komputer korang takkan mampu untuk play video dengan smooth atau video langsung tak boleh play. Video yang korang download biasanya mempunyai extension avi, rmvb, mkv, mpeg dan lain-lain. Secara default Windows hanya boleh memainkan fail dengan extension asf, avi dan mpeg menggunakan Windows Media Player. Tapi kalau korang nak guna GOM player atau VLC media player, korang tak perlu dah install codec. Sebabnya kebanyakan codec dah datang sekali dengan player tersebut. Tapi aku still suka K-lite codec. Ianya juga didatangkan dengan Media Player Classic. Media Player Classic best sebab kualiti video yang cantik berbanding guna Windows Media Player. Tak percaya korang try la bezakan.

System Cleaner
System cleaner kegunaannya adalah untuk membersihkan segala sampah sarap termasuklah cache, browsing history di dalam komputer korang. System cleaner yang aku cadangkan ialah ccleaner. Ccleaner bukan hanya boleh membersihkan komputer korang, ianya juga boleh digunakan untuk membersihkan registry, disable start up program dan juga untuk uninstall software yang korang tak nak guna lagi. Start up program yang banyak menyebabkan komputer mengambil masa yang lama nak boot up. Lagipun banyak jer start up yang tak berguna. Membazir penggunaan RAM jer.

Kalau korang adalah seorang gamer, yang ni memang sangat penting. Tanpanya game-game baru yang korang main tak akan boleh run dengan sempurna. Mesti akan keluar error. Audio dan video pun ada efek jugak kalau korang install benda ni. Cuma tak berapa nampak la.

Kegunaannya ialah untuk membuka fail pdf. Selain dari format doc, dokumen selalunya disimpan dalam bentuk pdf. Lagi-lagi yang korang download dari internet. So, ia agak penting jugak la. Biasa orang buat fail pdf ni sebab tak bagi edit. Kualiti dokumen pun agak best kalau simpan dalam bentuk pdf.

Secara default Windows media player boleh play fail mp3 korang. Tapi kualiti audio yang dihasilkan tak beberapa memuaskan. So gunalah winamp untuk dengar mp3 kegemaran korang. Nak lagi best tambah lyric plugin. Boleh korang dengar lagu sambil karaoke.

Kegunaannya adalah untuk compress fail ke bentuk rar/zip atau extract fail dari fail rar/zip. Selalunya bila kita download fail dari internet ia akan mempunya extension rar. Apabila ia di compress, maka saiznya lebih kecil. Masa untuk mendownload akan dijimatkan. Gunakan winrar untuk extract fail rar yang korang download.
